Jacob is going to be a big brother

That's right Dash 2 is inbound. Estimated time of arrival- mid August.

Kristin is 12 weeks pregnant. With our schedules being so hectic these last few months it was a bit of a surprise to us but I guess I was home at the right time :) We are pretty excited for Jake to have a little play buddy. I guess I need to start working on another peddle plane.

We are finally starting to dry out here in San Diego. Tough week for Jake being all cooped up in the house. It was really nice this weekend but unfortunately I had classes both Saturday and Sunday. Kristin and Jake went to Sea World today with some friends and had a nice time.

We took Jake in to get evaluated for his speech and he is a little behind but not too bad. He definitely is a smart little cookie but he doesn't communicate with his words well. We have seen a marked improvement in the last couple weeks though. He is trying more and more to repeat words we say.
We had a nice long weekend. A lot of rides on his motorcycle up to the nearby park. Jake is a big hit with the other kids when we ride up on his cycle. Today was rainy so we went to the San Diego Air and Space Museum. We are pretty sure that Jake touched every airplane in the museum, even the ones you're not supposed to... he can duck under those barrier ropes quick! We also got a personal tour of a Fire Truck from a nice San Diego fireman. After that we went to Chuck E Cheese for lunch.

Back to the grind again after the holidays. Jake is doing well. He had a little rash on his tummy, we are not sure from what but we got some ointment from the Dr. and it's going away.

We had a good weekend. We went around the lake yesterday morning and fed the ducks. Today we went to the park on his motorcycle and then our friends Dave, Dionna, their little boy Brenden and another buddy Vito came over from a BBQ. The boys exchanged Christmas presents since they all went back east over the holidays. I think Jake is getting a little too used to getting all these presents, and our house officially has more toys than "Toys-R-Us". Jake and Brenden had a blast playing together and we had NO problem getting Jake to sleep tonight, he conked right out.

Happy New Year!

We had a good New Year. Nothing crazy, just celebrated at home with Grandma Gretchen. We also celebrated Kristin's birthday. Jake loves blowing out candles. Grandma heads back to Idaho tomorrow. It's been great spending the holidays and birthdays with her.
